Undergraduate Universities

Why should undergraduate institutions have more diverse student bodies?
Preparation of Minorities for Professional Careers

Forming a more diverse workforce in the medical field is possible only if undergraduate institutions prepare the students well for the competitive medical career. For minorities with limited educational experiences but still inspired to pursue a STEM or medical career, it will be one of the key ways to realize their pursuit and showcase their culture, experiences and leadership.  Also, having a more diverse student body encourages the fellow minorities students to study and apply, which is a positive step in providing more equal educational access.

Vitality in Education and Communal Life

Having interactions and forming relationships with people from different backgrounds can enrich both learning experience and students' life outside of classrooms. With their minds constantly being challenged by different perspectives, all students can develop better critical thinking skills, inclusiveness towards other people's opinions, respect for all cultures, religions, and experiences, and consequently a broader view of the world.
